Sephora Sale Picks: Fall 2021

Sephora Sale Picks: Fall 2021

Sephora kicked off its biannual Beauty Insider sale this weekend, just in time for a little festive holiday (or treat-yo-self) shopping!

Access opened to Rouge members last Friday (20% off) and will open to VIB members on Tuesday the 9th (15%). If you don’t know what I’m talking about, signing up for the Insider program is free and will get you access on Thursday the 11th (10% off for all Insiders)! Everyone wins here.

Today, I’m sharing a list of my favorite products for those who, like me, have been patiently curating their carts for the last three months in anticipation of the sale. Or, maybe you’re playing catch up and could use a little overview? Either way, I got you. Most of the items on the list are “holy grail” products that I have been using for years.

Tatcha Silk Peony Eye Cream: This is the best, most moisturizing eye cream I’ve ever tried. My eyes get really dry (especially in the winter), and just a *tiny* dab of this goes a long way. It’s pricey, but since you only need a little at a time, each jar I’ve purchased has lasted me six months. (to compare, a similar size from Clinique would last only three months).

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Serum: I use this resurfacing serum at night 2-3 times per week, just one or two pumps all over my face, neck, and chest. This product is made with a 14% AHA/BHA/gentle flower acid blend (packs a punch) and hyaluronic acid which helps skin hold onto hydration

Augustinus Bader The Cream: This cult-following cream is the biggest skincare splurge I’ve ever made, but it truly is a be-all-end-all product. This light-weight cream contains vitamin C, vitamin A, and their patented TFC8 formula which helps generate cell turnover. I noticed a difference overnight the first time I used this, in both the texture of my skin and in the fine lines around my eyes and between my eyebrows. This is a great product if you want to make an impact but don’t want an 10 step situation each night. Kind of a “one stop shop” if you will.

Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm: Is there a better feeling than a clean, fresh face after a long day? I LOVE this cleansing balm because it gently removes my makeup/SPF without drying out my skin. It also removes my Hourglass mascara with ease. My face feels SO clean after using this, and I especially love this hydrating formula during the dry winter months.

Tata Harper Exfoliating Cleanser: This year, I have been working on not over-washing my face (over-washing dries you out). However, I do LOVE to use this gentle exfoliator in the shower a couple of times per week. This cleanser removes dead skin cells and grime and makes my skin feel so glowy after.

Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads: I still haven’t broken the seal on getting professional facials (a cost I am punting to my early 30’s at this point), so instead I like to do a little at-home spa night once a week. My favorite thing to use are these two step anti-aging mini peels from Dr. Dennis Gross. I like to use them alongside my trusty Amazon facial steamer

Supergoop! Glowscreen: I don’t need to tell you why you should NEVER leave the house without SPF on (ok, just really quickly: incidental sun exposure adds up, people, and the sun causes cancer and premature aging–no thank you!!). I have tried a lot of SPF products over the years, and Glowscreen is hands-down my favorite. I love the way this lays–under makeup or by itself–and because it’s both slightly tinted and illuminating, most of the time I don’t even need to add foundation on top of it. We love a two-birds moment around here. (If you prefer a more matte finish as a base for makeup, I recommend the Unseen Sunscreen–this one goes on clear and basically disappears on your skin).

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops: I mix 1-2 drops of this each morning with my moisturizer. This product provides a very subtle boost of color AND helps protect skin from free radicals and pollution. One bottle lasts forever.

Face Masks:

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask: This purifying clay mask clears out my pores and lifts and tightens my face. It’s refreshing without being too intense or stingy. When I use this mask, I slather some on right when I get out of the shower so it does its thing while I dry off, lotion up, etc. You only need to leave it on for 5-10 minutes, so the whole thing is very efficient.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask: This is a more luxurious, time-consuming mask but would make a perfect gift. It always sells out during the sale, and it makes sense because this is such a wonderful way to gently resurface the skin without breaking the bank. I savor this one and only use it before events or when I’m wanting to really treat myself.

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Setting Spray: Just yesterday, I had to wake up to do my makeup at 6am before getting my house ready to host a brunch baby shower. Normally doing my makeup so early before a long day would stress me out, but I just spritzed a little of this setting spray from Charlotte Tilbury on and just Let Go and Let God. We had 1 million people over all day and then went out that night, and by the time I got home at 11pm my makeup STILL looked good, if I do say so myself. This spray is amazing, and it leaves a kind of glowy finish too. I have no tolerance for a matte finish–life’s too short for that.

Westman Atelier Blush Stick: I have been loving easy, breezy cream products this year, and my new favorite in the rotation is this blush stick from Westman Atelier. This takes 2 seconds to apply and blend with my fake beauty blender, and I love the Couchette color.

Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Sticks: I recommend these for the makeup challenged like myself. I’ve always struggled with eye shadow, and these eyeshadow sticks really unlocked the game for me. There are so many gorgeous colors, but my favorites right now are Stone and Golden Pink. Couldn’t be easier to apply!

It Cosmetics CC Cream: I love this foundation for when I want more coverage or am doing a “full face” for an event or wedding. It’s illuminating and lays SO well. I’ve tried both the illuminating and the regular version of this, and I found the regular version’s color a little too yellow for my skin tone? The illuminating version helps balance my pink undertones, I’ve noticed. A little goes a long way, btw.

Sephora Collection Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner: I use this on my upper waterline before I apply mascara. It lasts all day without smudging and makes my lash line look more…complete? I used to use this really expensive version from Chanel but found this a couple of years ago–it’s even better than the Chanel one!

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk: This is a great, neutral lip color that looks good on everyone. I like to use this all over my lips with a balm on top.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo: I love this no-nonsense, no-residue dry shampoo. Smells good but not perfume-y at all and easy very easy to rub in. Actually cleans my hair and doesnt make my fingers feel gross if I end up touching my hair throughout the day.

Amika Supernova Moisture and Shine Hair Cream: My hair is crazy frizzy, and this product helps a lot. I use a teeny tiny drop of this when I’m done styling my hair and it kind of calms everything down and helps get my flyaways in check. Smells INCREDIBLE.

Ouai Wave Spray: I spritz this on second (and third) day hair. Adds texture to an “undone” wavy look and smells like Maui.

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner: I discovered this line earlier this year and couldn’t love it more. My hair feels so much softer now, and I have noticed ZERO product buildup with it which is important to me. The scent is invigorating (a word I’d never thought I’d use but so perfectly describes it) but not overpowering.
